The Valmet L-70 Vinka (Finnish: "Blast") is a Finnish-designed piston-powered military basic trainer aircraft. Design work was begun in 1970 as a replacement for the Saab Safirs then in use with the Finnish Air Force and the first prototype (designated LEKO-70) flew for the first time on July 1 1975. The aircraft entered service in 1980 with the last planes of the series of 30 manufactured were delivered from the Kuorevesi plant of Valmet Oy in 1982. Valmet attempted to market the type internationally under the name L-90 Miltrainer, but no orders followed.
