Junkers F13 1919

Designed in 1918, the Junkers F13 is the first all-metal commercial aircraft with one wing on each side of the plane, short, steep side stabilizers and enclosed cabins. The heated cabin had four passenger armchairs already equipped with seat belts.
The F13 was not allowed to be operated in Germany after WW I due to the Allied restrictions, but it still succeeded in becoming a very successful product. It was built for more than ten years until 1929; it made up the bulk of the Lufthansa fleet from 1926 to 1935, with 40 aircraft, and was built in various subtypes, with different engines, open or closed cockpit, sea- or landplane.

第一次大戦後、航空機の開発に制限を受けたドイツが、その当時の最先端の小型旅客機を世に送り出しました。それがこの機体です。全金属製でユンカース社のベストセラーとなりました。エンジンもユンカース社製の他ＢＭＷも搭載され、陸上機型の他水上機型やコックピットがオープンエアタイプなど種々生産されました。ルフトハンザではこの機体を４０機を９年間にわたって運行していました。これを元に開発されたのが W34 です。
